Reflections, Solo Exhibition
The Governor’s Cup Coffee Roasters
August 2017 - September 2017
Entering into 2016, my artwork was a reflection of my character: immature, guarded and detached. Although I had a base of technical skills, the works I produced were neither personal nor vulnerable. 2016 was a year of events that brought me a lot of pain, fundamentally changing how I saw and went about the world. Following the pieces chronologically, one can see their evolution. Processing and then healing from these events meant learning how to be vulnerable with myself and with others. It was the year art became a space to reflect my thoughts without hesitation.
